Further Informations

After the first album "Fragments of the Mechanical Unbecoming", the first major experimental phase, Deimon, Neru and Jegger decided to significantly expand their sound. While noise, industrial, rave, trance and black metal had previously stretched the boundaries of what was possible, these were now extended to include grindcore, death metal, prog rock and trip hop. While "Fragments" lived out the kind of radicalism that can only be generated by the uncultivated nature of gloomy urban fringe zones or the ecstatic anticipation of a possible future apocalypse, "Amygdala" looks inwards.
The approach should now be to focus on the broad spectrum of conflicting emotions.
While the title track "Apocalipsis" can be understood as an intermediate joint between "Amygdala" and "Fragments", the other songs delve deep into every conceivable emotional theme. The addition of a new singer, Axumis, who above all set new quality standards, made this presentation, this living out of the spontaneous, direct and always performed from the perspective of the here and now, particularly intense. The supervision by the band's future drummer, HMG, should also be mentioned here. But "Amygdala" remains a sound experience for other reasons too.
From the very beginning, the focus of the album was to create an authentic album that, as far as possible, had an artificial, technoid and sterile sound in order to accurately represent the otherworldly, the spiritual that emotions should or can represent. Of course, it should not be assumed that all of these plans were finalised at the time of production, but rather that these ideas were developed in night-long discussions and thus became part of this album.
It is particularly exciting to mention Neru's exceptional approach, which reached the highest level in terms of stubbornness and quality, especially on "Fragments" and "Amygdala". Some of the riffs that he and Jegger wrote were completely dissected and further developed during the recording process. The same applied to the songs themselves, which remained comprehensible in terms of song structure, but were characterised by an unusual obstinacy, especially in his parts. Deimon, his experimental buddy from the 1990s, naturally radicalised and maximised recordingprocess in terms of experimentation via his inputs while recording, mixing and producing.
